Bridging the Gap between Rehab and Recovery with Hope and Faith
Joe was a kind, caring, fun-loving young man who was lost to drugs and alcohol just as his path in life was becoming clear.
He started drinking and smoking marijuana as a teenager. Throughout his late teens and 20s he struggled with drugs and alcohol addiction, culminating with a drug overdose at the age of 28. Through the grace of God he survived and moved home and tried to make positive changes in his life.
He questioned his failures and why he couldn’t seem to manage his life. Knowing this was not the life he wanted, he dreamed of happier times with a family of his own.
We realize that it can be quite frustrating and feeling impossible when you, a friend, or loved one continues to go down the same destructive path over and over again. This is called Recidivism, a tendency to relapse into a previous condition or mode of behavior, especially relapse into criminal behavior. However, let us encourage you that all things are possible with God. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:26)
1 Corinthians 10:13 The Message (MSG). 13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.
